Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles, Fondazione Italia and Geronimo Stilton join together to play host to a special Italian language course for children taking place from July 9th to August 13th, 2022 at the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles.
Join Geronimo Stilton the mouse journalist most loved by children all over the world, born from an idea of Elisabetta Dami, in a new adventure throughout the “Thousand Wonders” (Le Mille Meraviglie) of the regions of Italy. This online Italian language course is presented by Fondazione Italia in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles and is based on the book Mille Meraviglie Viaggio alla scoperta dell’Italia‘ (A Thousand Wonders. A Journey to Discover Italy). a special project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with the Italian National Commission for UNESCO, produced by Edizioni Piemme-Mondadori Libri with the collaboration of Atlantyca Entertainment for the international editions.
This special edition of Geronimo Stiltonwas created for the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation with the aim of bringing kids closer to the many artistic and cultural beauties of Italy, even the lesser-known ones! Published in four languages (Italian, French, Spanish, and English), and with 16,000 copies printed, the special edition of “Mille Meraviglie” is an exclusive publication for the cultural network of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: the Embassies, Consulates, Italian Cultural Institutes and Schools abroad.
In the highly engaging multi-level course based on the book, kids 7+ will be involved in an online treasure hunt that takes them on a journey to discover the land and culture of Italy. A free copy of the books will be donated to each course participant by the Italian Cultural Institute. The classes will be taught in Italian (English when necessary).
The Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles is an overseas office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation dedicated to the promotion of the Italian culture in the United States. The main activities of the IIC include the organization and support of events, exhibitions and festivals, in collaboration with major local institutions, the development of academic exchanges, the incentives to publishing Italian books and the promotion of the Italian language.
